Write a Play

This story is called "Dream come true" and it starts off with 2 people, Brendan and Jeremey, who are on their way to a Red Hot Chili Peppers Concert. They have a band together and Brendan is a guitarist and Jason is the drummer. Jeremey is driving and Brendan has just wokin up from a nap.

Brendan: "Stretches," Are we frickin their yet?
Jeremey: Almost, calm down.
Brendan: Well it seriously feels like we have been driving for 20 straight hours.
Jeremey: Actually, you're just about right. 18 to be exact.
Brendan: All this just to go to a damn Red Hot Chili Peppers concert.
Jeremey: Easy what you say bro! I'll drop you off right here, no joke.
Brendan: I'm kidding man. You know be better than that.
Jeremey: Haha, I know. Jes messin with ya. Look, the sign says 2 miles to Pittsburgh.
Brendan: Nice, lemme see them tickets. I want to check out our seating situation.
Jeremey: I told you to grab them man, remember. Don't tell me you didn't grab them?
Brendan: Woah man. I'm pretty sure that you said you already had them. Did you not
Jeremey: Haha. Ya man, I was just checking your memory. They're in the glove box.
Brendan: You assclown! I just about shit my heart out.

Brendan opens up the glove box and grabs the tickets

Brendan: Section B. Where is that at?
Jeremey: It's down on the left side up next to the stage. If we get their early we will be real close.
Brendan: Nice. "Checks the time on his cellphone" Well we are 2 hours early. You think that is enough time?
Jeremey: It should be. I mean, we may not be the very front, but we should be pretty close.
Brendan: Yo man, here's a Mickey D's. We should stop here and eat first.
Jeremey: Good idea. I'm starvin.

They pull into McDonalds and eat. About 30 minutes later they arrive at the arena where the Chili Peppers are playing. They are standing in the ticket line.

Brendan: Yo man, my heart is pumping. I can't wait to see these guys.
Jeremey: You're telling me. I can name every song by the Peppers
Brendan: Haha. This is true. I hope we're not too late to get good seats.
Jeremey: I dunno. It's starting to get a lil crowded.

They finally show their tickets and get inside the gates.

Brendan: Alright, we need to hurry up. What do we need to do.
Jeremey: Get drinks
Brendan: Ya thats fine. Look, heres a store, lets get some shirts too.

They get some new shirts and immediately put them on, and grabbed their drinks. They pull out their tickets to look for their location.

Jeremey: We need to see where we are at. We are in section H right now.
Brendan: It says we're in section L, so it should be right over here.

They get to their section, show their tickets to the doorman, and get to their locations.

Jeremey: Talk about sick spots man! We have to stand but we are third row back.
Brendan: I know. This is such an adrenaline rush.

About a half hour roles by and the arena is really starting to fill up.

Jeremey: Yo man. Look at all these people. This place is gonna be nuts here real soon.
Brendan: I know, this is like my fifteenth concert and this might be the biggest one I've been to yet.
Jeremey: Ya, it's definitely up there with Dave Matthews and Linkin Park.
Brendan: Don't forget about Sublime man. How dare ya.
Jeremey: Sorry, Geez!

The lights go out and the crowd starts going crazy. The whole arena is shaking as if it was going to collapse. Brendan and Jeremey can't hear anything but the screaming as they see all 4 members of the Chili Peppers walk on the stage.

Brendan: HOLY SHIT MAN. THIS IS CRAZY. I CAN'T EVEN HEAR MYSELF THINK
Jeremey: HUH?!..
Brendan: EXACTLY. WHAT SONGS YOU THINK THEY ARE GOING TO PLAY
Jeremey: HOPEFULLY ATLEAST "OTHERSIDE" AND "UNDER THE BRIDGE"
Brendan: OBVIOUSLY THEY'RE GONNA PLAY THEM. WHO WOULDN'T PLAY THE SONGS THAT MADE THEM POPULAR AT A CONCERT.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers start their gig and about 2 hours into the show, their guitarist John Frusciante faints and falls to the floor. The crowd goes silent as all the music stops and all the members of the peppers rush over to assist John.

Jeremey: What the hell. I can't believe this. He must be dehydrated or something.
Brendan: Probably, I hope he is alright. I hope he can still play, they haven't even played my song yet!
Jeremey: Or mine! Maybe they can recruit you for the rest of the show. "Laughs". But no, serious. We play their songs all the time. You know you can shred with them.
Brendan: Ya, to bad that I probably have a better chance of getting with your mom, not saying I wouldn't or anything.
Jeremey: Haha, funny.

The ambulance shows up and carry John out in a stretcher. The crowd starts booing as Anthony Kiedis, the singer picks up the mic.

Anthony: John is having serious dehydration right now. We are very sorry but we are calling it a wrap.

Brendan: "Looks at Jeremey" Talk about an unfortunate situation. John has to do this on a night we drive 20 hours to come see them.
Jeremey: Here's your chance man. See if they will let you take his spot.

"Pause" As they look at each other.

Brendan: Can I have some of what you have been smokin please?
Jeremey: I'M SERIOUS MAN. GO ASK.

Jeremey forcefully grabs Brendan and starts pushing him through the crowd. They get to the stage and 2 bouncers approach them.

Bouncer: No, don't even think about it
Jeremey: ANTHONY, ANTHONY, LET MY BOY PLAY FOR YA! HE'S GOOD. ANTHONY!

Anthony starts to walk over.

Anthony: Whats the problem here?
Jeremey: Let my boy finish the show for ya's. He's good, I swear.
Anthony: I don't know if I can do that.
Jeremey: You're Anthony Kiedes, you can do anything you want! And no one wants to leave early!
Anthony: "Looks at Brendan" Whats your name kid?
Brendan: Brendan "As he can't keep his hands and legs still"
Anthony: Aight Brendan, C'mon, lets get this started!

Brendan looks at Jeremey can't believing this is happening right now.

Jeremey: GET THE HELL UP THERE AND DO YOUR THING MAN. "As he pushes Brendan up on the stage.

Brendan gets up on the stage, and meets all the members. He picks up Johns guitar and turns around to stare at the audience. Its the most awesome sight Brendan has ever seen. Adrenaline is just running through his body as he just about shakes to the ground. Then you hear some drums, some bass, Anthony's voice, and that was all she wrote. Everything just seemed to fall into place for Brendan. It was as if he has been doing this for years. He knew every song they played and played it to perfection, dancing and having a blast while doing it. They go on to put on one of the greatest performances the Peppers have ever put on. After the last song, they raise their hands in the air and the crowd goes nuts.

Anthony: LET'S HEAR IT FOR BRENDAN!

The crown gets even louder. Brendan can't believe he's standing on stage with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and the whole crowd is screaming as Brendan puts his arms in the air. He looks down to see Jeremey screaming and pointing at him. Brendan points back with the biggest smile on his face.
