Relate Theatre to my major

Relating theatre to my major seems like it would be impossible but its really not. My major is Business Management and Theatre has nothing to do with my major and to be honest I shouldn't even really be taking Theatre. I needed a fillin so I designated theatre into being an easy A class.

Theatre is related to my major in that I have to do presentations in class all the time. Every class I take anymore has some kind of presentation to do in it wether it be a powerpoint presentation or a speech of some sort. I have to stand in front of the class for a certain amount of time, sometimes 5 minutes and sometimes 10 or 20 minutes, and perform by reading and presenting information. This also helps a lot for my presentations with multiple people. Sometimes my self confidence can be low and I can tend to be shy in front of people. Theatre helps take away that shyness and allows me to speak my mind when preparing for presentations. During one of our groups first presentations I didnt really talk much during our meetings and give my input towards the project. We didnt do a whole part that I wanted to do and in our teachers review she gave us back, she docked points off for not adding in the section to our presentation that I wanted to do but never spoke up. Theatre class can really help me their too.

Altogether, Theatre can only be related to my major in one way. But that one way is probably what half of my whole job will consist when I get into the real world. That way is building my self confidence to allow me to speak in front of an audience and to communicate more thoroughly. If I continue to take more Theatre classes throughout the semesters, I feel it would definitely be for the better of my career.
